Information & Computing Lab seeks experimentation and development at the border of the data analysis techniques and of the ICTs as engines of this new economy and digital society. Besides the simple use of the ICTs and the application of data analysis to closed problems, we seek to solve problems of increasing complexity in changing environments, enabling the decision-making process as a guarantee of sustainability in various areas:
• Learning Analytics: Oriented towards data treatment for online learning tools with the aim of realizing descriptive, exploratory, causal or predictive analyses for students, professors and educational institutions.
• Social Media Analytics: Oriented towards the treatment of data coming from the social networks with the objective of examining the nature and characteristics of the relations and structure of social networks.
• Crowd-sensing: Oriented towards the use of the citizen seen as a sensor of his environment with the objective of establishing behaviour patterns which allow the detection of alert situations or the setting up of needs or improvements for that environment.
• Business Intelligence: Oriented towards the use of data analysis for making business decisions starting from the information brought freely by clients or potential clients in social environments.
