The Business intelligence principles involve processing available data
in order to gain a competitive advantage in the market. The continuous
flow of public information from forums and social networks makes possible
to extract any kind of sentiment expressed about a product, service or
brand. The aggregation of this data, including the impact of time and location,
could be crucial in the success of a business decision, so it should be
taken into account.
The objective of the Marble project is to propose a general model applying different techniques (opinion mining, relevant topic identification, data and company connections, space-time scopes and real time analysis) that could be transformed into a solution that provides a high level view about products and services of interest, enabling decision making “as soon as possible”, as well as post-mortem analysis of relevant events.
