Learning analytics is defined as “the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of data about learners and their contexts, for purposes of understanding and optimizing learning and the environments in which it occurs”.
In this sense, formal sources as LMSs (Learning Management Systems) were widely investigated by researchers. Others addressed the MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) as a new learning alternative especially for “lifelong learners”. In this context, we strongly believe that informal sources such as social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) must be considered in order to get more featured view to address this kind of challenges.

Providing the learning stakeholders the right information in the right moment is our main goal. Within this project, optimizing the learning environment and furnishing decision support at different steps of the learning process remain at the top of our priorities.

Using data mining techniques, processing big amount of data (regarding previous learners’ records and curriculum but also their social media fingerprints) are the major techniques employed in order to analyze and predict for further recommendations and support.
